Andrew Pritchard
Biography:
Hey! As a junior Biochemistry major, I am thrilled to be part of the Gallagher lab! Although I began my undergraduate studies as a pre-medical student, my interest in research has grown significantly. I am looking forward to continuing my education in the Gallagher group for the sake of understanding research. When I graduate in spring of 2024, I plan on continuing my journey in research by applying to graduate school for Chemistry/Biochemistry. A fun fact about me is that I hiked an active volcano while watching the neighboring volcano erupt...Although I spend a significant amount of time studying, I do indeed enjoy the outdoors (contrary to common belief)!
Within the Gallagher group, I work with Darren Gass in his work with ion-ion reactions with metal adducted carbohydrates. We use metal adducted carbohydrates to develop new methods for distinguishing isomeric carbohydrates.
